Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Pinyin Memory (“the App”) is built to be private by design. The short version: we don’t collect your data, because everything you create stays on your device. This policy explains exactly how that works.
Data we collect
None.
There is no account to create, no sign-up, and no login. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking, telemetry, or any third-party SDKs that profile you. We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or device identifiers for tracking.
Where your content lives
All of your entries, review history, and settings are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data never leaves your device through the App, and the developer has no servers that receive it — there are none. We cannot see, read, or access your content.
Purchases
If you buy a subscription or the lifetime upgrade, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple (StoreKit / in-app purchase) or Google Play. The developer never sees your payment details, card number, or billing information. Your purchase status may be shared between your device and the App store solely to unlock premium features; this stays on-device and with the platform, and is governed by Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies.
Over-the-air updates
The App may check Expo’s update service for new JavaScript bundles so it can deliver improvements without a full store update. This is a standard network request and sends only routine technical metadata (such as the runtime version) needed to fetch the correct update. No personal data or user content is sent.
Children's privacy
Because the App collects no personal data at all, it is suitable for users of all ages (rated 4+). We do not knowingly collect information from children, or from anyone.
Your data, your control
You stay in full control. You can export your data at any time from Settings → Data inside the App. Uninstalling the App permanently removes all of its local data from your device. Since we hold nothing on our side, there is nothing for us to delete.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Because the App is local-only, we don’t anticipate material changes to how we handle data.
